Home 27 July 2017 At the hospital A message from our CEO To the valued supporters of the Children’s Hospital Foundation I am delighted to now be a part of the Children’s Hospital Foundation team as Chief Executive Officer. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting the dedicated staff members and volunteers at our children’s hospital, and it’s great to know I’m leading a passionate team of people, dedicated to helping sick kids. I am fortunate to have already witnessed firsthand the significant impact your support has had on children. Whether that be through the research we are funding to help find faster diagnoses, better treatments, and ultimately cures for some of the most devastating childhood illnesses and injuries. Or the equipment you’ve help fund, which is giving every sick child in Queensland access to the best possible treatment and care. Or our volunteers you’ve helped make possible, who are there to help families cope, holding the hands of kids, parents and carers who are on an emotional – and at times – uncertain journey. The work we do at the Children’s Hospital Foundation truly supports every aspect of the healing environment needed to help sick kids. When a child is sick, their whole family is affected. It has been amazing to tour the Queensland Children’s Hospital, which is helping foster a nurturing environment so our sick kids can laugh and smile, get better and go home sooner. We can be very proud of what has already been achieved today. And it is also very exciting what we have planned for tomorrow and into the future – I look forward to bringing you more details of these exciting plans in the next few months. Thank you for your continued support of sick kids and their families. Everything we do is made possible by the generosity and support of people like you.
