With a background in nursing and ambulance services, she felt like she could make a real difference to the lives of sick kids and their families at our children’s hospital. Bev has a very special voluntary role at the hospital, as a Steggles Cuddle Carer. This program gives parents the opportunity to take a break from their baby’s bedside, consult with medical staff, make phone calls, or just catch up on some sleep. Our Steggles Cuddle Carer volunteers are there to give comfort to babies with a warm cuddle, making a real difference to parents and nursing staff. “As a cuddle carer, I just love the fact that we can give cuddles to the little ones in need. It is a privilege to share their journey,” Bev said. Each day, our Cuddle Carers receive feedback from families as well as hospital staff about the great work they do to help assist an unsettled baby. Last year, our Steggles Cuddle Carers gave out over 2,300 warm and loving cuddles to our sick kids. chevron_leftPrevious article Share Next articlechevron_right Latest News & Events Young cancer survivor helps raise money for sick Queensland kids July 10, 2020 Read more Round up for sick kids at Officeworks!
