The pleasantly shocked Ross family were attending the Kids Ball at Queensland Cricketers Club last Saturday, 14 November, with their daughter, Libby, when they won the randomly chosen lucky dip prize of a brand-new car, which was generously donated by Hyundai Motor Company Australia Pty Ltd. 12-year-old Libby was born with Spina Bifida – a condition that affects the development of the spinal cord – and her and her family have been supported by the Children’s Hospital Foundation through various patient and family services including volunteer services and music therapy. Libby’s mum, Alison, said the incredible announcement came just two weeks after their family car had been written off due to a severe hailstorm that hit their home. “Winning this car has been absolutely life-changing, as it’s going to make an enormous difference in our ability to take Libby out of the house, and allow us as a family unit to be more engaged within the community,” Alison said. Libby and her family were one of 120 sick kids and their families in attendance at the inaugural Kids Ball. Martin Him, Hyundai Regional General Manager – Northern Region, said Hyundai is proud to support the Children’s Hospital Foundation. “All the family’s that were present at the Kids Ball were so deserving of the Brand New Tucson Elite, but the fact the Ross family had only just had their family car written off in the devastating hail storms two weeks prior made this moment all the more special,” Mr Him said. “I was proud to be able to help a family in need, and it is only through the generosity of Hyundai and our fabulous dealer network that made it possible.” chevron_leftPrevious article Share Next articlechevron_right Home page Zayden’s legacy: play for all October 21, 2021 Read more Harrison helped by insulin infusion pumps October 8, 2021 Read more Working wonders for kids affected by stroke October 8, 2021 Read more Subscribe for the latest news There is always something interesting happening in our world.
