Wonder Moments

Matilda rings the bell!

Friday 16 April was a very special day for a very special girl!

Matilda, one of our truly amazing wonder warriors and Foundation ambassador got to ring the bell to mark the end of her treatment.

In November 2017, at just six years old, Matilda was diagnosed with B cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.  She bravely completed her treatment and is now in remission, recently celebrating being one year cancer-free!

Matilda had her final treatment for leukaemia in January last year but due to COVID restrictions, she had to put her bell ringing on hold.

But finally, on Friday 16 April, she got to mark his wonderful milestone surrounded by her family and friends.

Being the inspirational young lady she is, Matilda wanted to give something back to the Foundation and help other sick kids like her, so she brought in a wonderful donation of toys and games.

Matilda said, “The Children’s Hospital Foundation made those bad days better by bringing me fun stuff, now I want to do the same for some other sick kids.”

You can watch a video of Matilda’s bell ringing on our Facebook page.
