Jaimee’s story

It wasn't until she was four that Jaimee was finally diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy and the family’s medical journey took off.

Mum, Amy was concerned when at twelve months her daughter Jaimee couldn’t sit up unaided, and when she was still coasting around the furniture at 20 months. But it wouldn’t be until aged four that Jaimee was finally diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy and the family’s medical journey took off.

From orthotics for Jaimee’s feet to botox injections, Jaimee took it all in her stride and overcame any obstacles. Mum, Amy says, “She has always been a go-getter.”

“Jaimee has always been a happy go lucky child and we are ever so proud of her and thank Woolworths for asking her to be an ambassador.

Over the past seven years Jaimee has worked at her physio and occupational therapy sessions. A big moment came when she could finally walk unaided, then came conquering steps, now there is no stopping her running everywhere.

Mum, Amy says, “Jaimee has always been a happy go lucky child and we are ever so proud of her and thank Woolworths for asking her to be an ambassador.

She is absolutely stoked at this opportunity and would like to thank everyone involved, including her aunty, Megan Smith, who works at Carseldine Woolworths to our local store Caboolture Lakes whose lovely team helped us with our shopping during Jaimee’s recovery.

Without the love and support we have received over the last seven years, I don’t think that Jaimee would be the amazing child she is today. From the bottom of Jaimee’s and my heart, THANK YOU.”

Jaimee is one of 20 ambassadors for the Woolworths Regional Wall Tokens campaign.

By purchasing a $2 wall token from now until the end of September, you are helping fund equipment and programs in your local hospital, which help families like Jaimee ‘s through an emotional, stressful, and at times uncertain journey.

Woolworths Regional Wall Tokens is an opportunity to highlight some of the brave kids throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales, who you can help by purchasing a wall token.
