Home 26 June 2017 News Burns research given a boost Almost 40 emergency services workers including firefighters, police officers, emergency paramedics and SES members join forces to raise vital funds for childhood burns research. Almost 40 emergency services workers have swapped their everyday uniform for the lycra, as they took part in the annual Bike4Burns ride. This year, the ride spanned 560 kms from Townsville to Cairns, raising vital funds for burns research. And we’re proud to announce their tally is more than $58,000 – and still counting! Funds raised from Bike4Burns riders will help the Children’s Hospital Foundation fund vital research into burns, including discovering new ways to lessen the pain for kids so they can get better and go home sooner. If you’re interested in supporting Bike4Burns and childhood burns research, you can still donate.
