Home Get involved Volunteer 15 August 2019 Volunteers Nine Telethon 2019 This year the Children’s Hospital Foundation and Channel Nine will have an exciting new format with FOUR broadcast locations! Our new edition is a Concert! Brand new for 2019 is the Telethon concert being held at Brisbane’s newest music venue –the Fortitude Music Hall. With a capacity of 3,000+ people, the concert will feature an all-star line-up of entertainment which will be broadcast throughout the evening. Between performances, there will be crosses to all locations. As always, the Sunsuper Contact Centre is the heart of the Channel Nine Telethon and this year it will be an even more significant Telethon location. With the pre-show once again being broadcast live from the Contact Centre, we have introduced additional live-crosses throughout the Nine Telethon. The Celebrity Phone Panel will now be located at the Sunsuper Call Centre and these celebrities will be joining our volunteer phone operators. Each year the families in hospital are invited to gather together to be a part of the fun, to watch the Channel Nine Telethon. The Queensland Children’s Hospital viewing party will be a bigger party this year for the patients and families in hospital – an opportunity to have their own celebration, share their stories and watch the telethon broadcast! This location will bring further light and energy to Telethon while broadcasting the sense of community amongst hospital families and connecting businesses who are actively working to make a difference. The Coffee Club Telethon Ball is once again being held at the Royal International Convention Centre and with the new Telethon format, the ball will be expanding into new territory taking over the whole venue. This increased capacity means it will be bigger than ever! The Coffee Club Telethon Ball is renowned as one of the largest and most vibrant charity balls in Queensland. This year’s ball, on Saturday 16th November 2019, will be bigger and better than ever before with more than 1500 people in one room at the Royal International Convention Centre, for $250 pp or $2500 per table. The Coffee Club Telethon Ball supports the Children’s Hospital Foundation and raises hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund vital research into the most devastating childhood cancers, helping to ensure kids have the best possible chance at getting better.
